The KOMPON CHUDO on Mt Hiei

Nov 2013 in front of the KOMPON CHUDO, the main hall of the Enryakuji. Twelve Tendai priests and their deshi came from outside Japan to help celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Overseas division. Center front is the Venerable Zasu Handa Kojun-sama, still amazingly vigorous at 97 years old. Inside the hall one can see the oil lamp with the flame continuously burning for over 1200 years.
